One of our Theatre Members Lorraine George has written a book to raise funds for her charity The Rob George Foundation which she set-up with her husband in memory of their youngest son Rob whose life was cruelly cut short by acute myeloid leukaemia.
The foundation has two aims.
The book is called ‘End to End – with love. X” It is available in paperback from Amazon for £15.99 and all proceeds will go to the Rob George Foundation and support young people when they need it most.
Four years in the life of an ordinary mother. A book from the heart, attempting to record what it is like to find your life out of your control. Share the uncomfortable juxtaposition of deep sadness alongside enormous fun and pride. On the one hand "End to End – with love. x" is a journey through the eyes of a mother, as her youngest son faces a life threatening illness. Intertwined with this runs an account of her journey, literally from the end to end of Britain, on a bike! This was a trip they had planned to make together. This is a true-life account of the surprising strength, determination and power that can be found deep within us. Life will never be the same again for this mother and her family. Perhaps it will inspire you too? Proceeds from the sale of this book will help support the work of The Rob George
You can read more about Lorraine’s son and fundraising events on the Rob George Foundation website and social media sites below.

An Opportunity/Novice dancer is a dancer who has not been placed (1st – 4th ) in either a Stage or a Classical discipline (either in an Opportunity/Novice or Open section) in either an ABD organised festival/competition or any other festival/competition that they have previously entered.
A decision has been made regarding sections offered by the ABD and these will be as follows:-
Competitors will be restricted to two (2) entries per age section and category.
1st Entry Tap & 2nd Entry Modern
1st Entry Ballet & 2nd Entry Character
There will be NO Opportunity/Novice sections for Baby, Duets or Trios.
Troupes & Groups

Here the ruling is the entered dance must not have been placed (1st – 3rd) in either a Stage or a Classical discipline (either in an Opportunity/Novice or Open section) in either an ABD organised festival/competition or any other festival/competition that it has previously taken part in.
